A newly recorded version of “Into My Life”, from Men At Work’s Colin Hay, featuring Gregg Bissonette (Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band) and Cecilia Nöel, is being released in tandem with a mini documentary about Colin. The doc features Colin on tour, reaching an international audience as a solo artist for the first time, and discovering success outside the mega-successful (30 million albums sold) world of Men At Work.
Men At Work front man and songwriter, Colin Hay, included “Into My Life” on his debut solo album Wayfaring Sons. The song existed as an album track and live show favorite until it exploded in Brazil in the 90s as the theme song of the popular soap opera “Rainha da Sucata”. Hay explains: “One of the major reasons “Into My Life” was a hit song in Brazil is the power of television. Audiences heard it as the theme song for a popular soap opera and the sound was familiar to them due to the success of Men At Work in Brazil.”
The success of “Into My Life” earned Hay appearances on major festivals throughout Brazil and spurred frequent tours of the country. The song rivals the anthemic “Down Under” as Hay’s most popular song in South America, and is featured in the 2015 documentary about Hay titled “Waiting For My Real Life to Begin.”
