The Lonesome Touch

Martin Hayes is being hailed as the finest Irish fiddler of his generation. Born in County Clare and now making his home in Seattle, Washington, Hayes at only 33 years of age has won both of Ireland’s top music awards, including the Irish "Grammy" for Best Traditional Musician. Martin and his musical collaborator Dennis Cahill have been stunning audiences across Europe and North America, including captivating the crowd of 7,000 at the San Francisco Celtic Festival in March, 1997. The Lonesome Touch captures the astonishing musical kinship between two master players, and is their first recording together. In the manner of great jazz duos, Hayes and Cahill inspire and urge each other on, trading passages, stretching out and digging in.
