Simply stated, The Tannahill Weavers are the foremost proponents of Scottish traditional music. For over twenty-five years, the band has taken their rich cultural heritage to the world, both in concert and on recordings. They deliver "the pure drop," a robust, vital, and stately music, the hardy frame of the tunes heard cleanly within the group’s stirring arrangements.

Epona, their first new recording in two years, continues this legacy with a recording abounding with Scottish instrumental and vocal tradition: songs by Robert Burns (including their first recording of the classic "Westlin’ Winds") and namesake Robert Tannahill, piping sets from the classical repertoire, and a healthy mix of traditional tunes. Add some originals by members of the band and you have the latest singing/piping classic by this masterful ensemble.
