In our mid-thirties, I first started noticing time moving faster. And each year, it seemed to move exponentially faster. Rooms seemed smaller and all of the noise seemed louder. It makes you question all of the time you spent not paying attention to all of it and appreciating every moment. How many minutes you spent staring at your phone to avoid thinking or feeling or filling the little cracks inside your heart with whatever temporary heart paste was in front of you. This song is about staring down all of that and wanting to spend every moment feeling and living, even if that also means embracing the persistent ache inside.
